Tumwater Family Practice: Making a Big Difference for Local Youth

For the past three years, Tumwater Family Practice has teamed up with Community Youth Services (CYS) to run a Supply Drive for youth, and it’s become a favorite event for everyone involved.

Aliandra Susuico, a team member at the practice, shared how it all started. “In 2022, we wanted to give back to our patients and community in a meaningful way. With input from staff who had personally benefited from Community Youth Services, we launched our annual supply drive. Now in its third year, we’re proud to partner with CYS and look forward to continuing this effort to support local youth.”

One story that really stands out is about a young girl who saw their poster and saved up her allowance to buy supplies.  “She became the first to donate. Her mom shared that she saved all her allowance to buy supplies for youth,” said Aliandra.

The drive doesn’t just help youth facing obstacles it’s also brought the practice and their patients closer together. “It’s been amazing to see how much people care. Patients also share that they see the positive impact Community Youth Services is having in our community, and that inspired both employees and patients to give,” Aliandra says. “Every year, we get over 100 donations, and it’s truly a team effort.”

As the next Supply Drive approaches, Tumwater Family Practice is ready to keep the tradition going strong. “We can’t wait to see how the community comes together again this year,” Aliandra adds.
